KENSINGTON LAW CENTRE

North Kensington Law Centre, free Legal Advice and Representation. Covering: Employment, Housing, Welfare Benefits, Immigration and Asylum, London wide.

We work in the community in West London to help people with their legal problems. We seek the best outcomes for those facing disadvantages in the areas of employment, housing, welfare benefits, immigration, criminal defence and prison law. Our clients mainly live in West London but we can sometimes help people from across London.

Alongside our legal aid services we offer some low cost and fixed-fee services. Our fees are set, so that from the very start it is clear how much you will pay.

Employment:

Whether you have been unfairly treated, dismissed or discriminated against at work, we can help. We offer fixed-fee and ‘no win, no fee’ legal help and representation on employment matters. We only ever represent employees so you can be assured that we will work tirelessly on your behalf to help you reach your goal.

Housing:

At present we can only offer help to clients who qualify for Legal Aid.  We offer a Monday morning housing clinic where we will assess your case and tell you if you qualify for free legal representation under our legal aid contract. If so, you will be given an appointment with our housing solicitor.

Immigration & Asylum:

Our highly experienced immigration solicitors can offer you a fixed fee service on a range of immigration matters. Whether you want to extend your permission to stay or apply to stay permanently in the UK, we can help.  Find out if you also qualify for free legal help and representation.

Welfare Benefits:

Our welfare benefits caseworker offers advice on welfare benefits issues to people who live in Kensington and Chelsea only. We specialise in helping people to challenge unfair decisions about their benefits.

Criminal Defence:

We hold a crime clinic every Thursday. We aim to give you basic advice on your criminal law matter, whether or not you are entitled to legal aid. We will also advise whether you are entitled to advice and representation under our legal aid contract. If so, we will be able to represent you throughout the investigation at the police station and at court if necessary.

Prison Law:

We provide representation at adjudications and at parole board hearings
